It may be remarkable in some ways, uniformly, it may be tough for grownups and a lot more difficult for your little kids. When they are advised they are transferring, children most of the time feel frightened and upset.  A good thing you can do to prepare them for this is to tell them the situation and tell them quickly. Think about an idea that will best fit their age and learn to speak in their "language".  As much as possible, whenever there is time, talk about it a lot. They'll be needing a great deal of time to adjust with just about everything with regards to moving. Definitely, they'll pop up funny questions, and all it takes is a little patience when answering them. Talk about it. Make sure to mention about the move right away before the moving time. Review what the new house will appear, how big it is as well as what they should and should not expect. This will prepare them for the big change that's waiting for them in a new location.

Ensure them that everything is going to be a little bit stressful for quite a time, however all the things is going to be normal again after the move. Provide them of the issues that won't change, family members, daily routines, possessions etc..

Let the children take part in the tasks that have something to do with moving, those that are ideal for their age. Allow them to pack their things like, toys or stuffed animals, books, and even their clothes and footwear. This manner, they can possibly view the moving experience as an exciting task.

Let the kids pick the plan and decorations for their room. When possible prioritize this for your child and the child's room so they will enjoy more their new space knowing that they're the one who adorned it. Have them decide on their own personal bedcovers together with other kids' stuff to feel comfortable with the room.

Pay a quite a few visits to the new house along with the children so that gradually they begin to acquaint the place and imagine doing things in their soon to be home.

Once moved in, check the whole place so that the kids have the opportunity to learn every nook and make the final day a fun family event.

Generally, moving to a new home along with young kids needs extra effort to make them recognise the whole task, the most important thing to focus on in making the transition easier is to keep communication open, reassure them that everything will turn out normally and keep them in the loop while in the moving process.  Good luck and happy moving!

Girlfriend Sayings

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-Author: Delta Fi
Here is the truth: girls love compliments. They are very emotionally sensitive and tend to be more affectingly sophisticated to words than guys.

They react like little girls whenever some part of their astounding attributes (especially physical) are noticed and loose control whenever it happens. They need a lot of attention to satisfy their emotional needs and giving compliments can one of the best ways to do so.

The following might be considered romantic things to say to your girlfriend, but at the same time can also be poetic, funny, Philosophical, silly, weird, etc, but I prefer saying that they are sweet.

Sweet things to say to your girlfriend:

Silly

1- You're so sweet. I might go diabetic
2- If I was superman, you will be my kryptonite
3- Thanks to you, I've fallen in love and I can't up
4- I wish I had glasses so I can see you with four eyes
5- You are my girlfriend because you're more than just a girl, you're my friend
6- A million dollars is nothing compared to the number hugs of I can give you

Normal

7- You are my best friend
8- Your voice is sweeter than honey
9- Our love is friendship, but set on fire
10- If it wasn't for you, there would be no me
11- To me, your smile is brighter than the sun
12- When I close my eyes at night the first thing I see is you
13- If I had a million words to say, they will all be I love you

Poetic/Philosophical

14- Without you, a second is infinity and with you, infinity is a second
15- Your name is the drumstick that strikes the instrument of my heart
16- If my love for you was visible, it would not fit in the space of the universe
17- When you're away, I feel 50% empty, when you're with me I feel 101% complete
18- I think about you every second of every minute, 25 hours a day, 8 days a week of all the 13 months of the year and in the undefined infinity of all eternity

Rhymes

19- Without you am just simply blue
20- Your voice sounds better than all my favorite songs put together
21- If one plus one equals two, than me and you would equal a number that is new
22- Tonight I have the right to hold you tight with all my might for the rest of my life
23- If you were to give me a kiss overload, I would faint because my chest would explode

The above quotes can also be considered nice things to say to your girlfriend because they are not rude, but polite and stay within the limits of respect. If she becomes your wife one day, she might remember these quotes with a pleasant memory. Unfortunately, we men have little consideration at times for the emotional needs of our partner and forget that women love to hear similar sayings once a while.

Beauty tips 4 U for this week

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-

Are you minding your mind?

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-
We all are running I guess faster than the clock. And so are our life and our health running behind us, making every effort to ask us whether we want any break?? Is our life SO busy? Don't we deserve such breaks to refresh our life? Our laptops and computers seem to be luckier than us, at least they have a refresh button and a shut down option!!
Let’s get this simple: Are you taking good care of YOUR Mental Health? Most of us would choose to spontaneously nod i acceptance and prepare huge sentences to answer this question. They would say:

1. "Yes, when my spouse is mad at me, I pull back and thus, end fights.”
2. “I simply neglect when my teenager arrogantly back answers and yells at me.”
3. “Things aren’t going well in my marriage so I decide to stay back long in the
office. It is easier that way.”
4. “My friends aren’t in touch with me any more but I guess I am fine alone.”
5. “My colleague is getting nasty these days but I prefer ignoring rather than getting
into discussions and then probably conflicts.”
Above any many more such explanations isn’t what you should be answering………
Stop ‘Blindly Breathing’:
1. Do not emotionally mask 24/7. It is suppression of your real emotion and
expression of unreal emotion which others wish to see on you.
2. Do not over-pamper your ego; it is moving you in the opposite direction of the
world.
3. Do not self-pity; it makes you weaker and vulnerable. Empathy is a better word
instead of sympathy for your own self.
4. Be friends with ‘ifs and buts’ of your life.
5. Stop denying- Your truth my truth can be different!
6. Every emotion can be expressed in a positive way at the right place, right time
and to the right person.
7. Do not say “I am OK” when you are not OK.
8. Stop denying that every human comes with their own blacks and whites and so do
you too.
9. Avoid negative self-talk. Eg. Why ME?, No matter what I do, failure will fall in
my pocket, I hate myself, I don’t like these things in myself, Nobody ever
understands me, I am sick of myself etc
10. Stop saying ‘NO’ to yourself when you rightly deserve a ‘YES’ to it.
Start ‘Living Life’:
1. Give 5 compliments to yourself daily.
2. Smile, kiss and say “I love you” to yourself while you are grooming/ dressing up/
shaving in front of the mirror. It is not crazy!!

3. Have your ‘My Time’ daily for 15 minutes. Use this time to do anything that
YOU like, be just yourself, become comfortable and complete with yourself.
4. Take regular breaks and introspect: Eg: Are you happy? Where are you taking
your life?
5. Love yourself unconditionally. Say ‘No’ to have checklists for you to accept your
own self.
6. Feel proud of whatever you are today. Say: “Hey, I am unique!”
7. Learn to balance: Individual U, Family U, and Social U!
8. Respect every ‘I’, ‘U’ and ‘WE’.
9. Create happy moments for yourself, don’t wait and expect others to do it for you
all the time.
10. Celebrate life as it comes just once!

The Magic of Diversity - Cultural Diversity: A Canadian Perspective

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-Canada's experience with diversity distinguishes it from most other countries. Its 32 million inhabitants reflect a cultural, ethnic and linguistic makeup found nowhere else on earth. Approximately 200,000 immigrants a year from all parts of the globe continue to choose Canada, drawn by its quality of life and its reputation as an open, peaceful and caring society that welcomes newcomers and values diversity.

In order to encourage the creation and sharing of Canadian stories, both at home and abroad, which reflect Canada's cultural mosaic, Canadian Heritage is pursuing a number of strategic objectives. Chief among these is recognition of the importance of cultural diversity. Our commitment and experiences are outlined in the following departmental publications:

    Stop to smell the lavender

Aromatherapy awaits in Canada’s parcel of Provence.
StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-by Giancarlo La Giorgia -

If you’re passing through Québec’s Eastern Townships region this summer, with the wind off Lake Memphremagog blowing just right, you may find your attention drawn by a distant, but distinct, floral perfume. That spritz of sweet-smelling air is Mother Nature’s way of advertising the Bleu Lavande lavender farm, just past the covered bridge in the rural hamlet of Fitch Bay.

Despite the challenge of long, cold winters, owners Pierre Pellerin and Christine Deschesnes defied conventional wisdom Рand conquered their own inexperience Рto slowly nurture their dream of planting a bit of Provence on 100 acres of land they purchased near the Qu̩bec-Vermont border. After a false start in 2002 (the first winter killed off all but 10,000 plants), Bleu Lavande now boasts over 300,000 true lavender plants under cultivation, all grown without chemicals or pesticides, making it the second-biggest operation of its kind in North America.
A farmstead boutique opened in 2004, and there are now many Bleu Lavande shops across the province, including several in the Montreal area. But even if it’s a bit out of the way, there is a lot more in store for visitors to the original location. You’ll find the brand’s full range of lavender-based products, from lotions, soaps and cleaning products, to lavender cooking ingredients, chocolates and honey, as well as candles, linen water and even potted English and Munstead lavender plants (the latter’s petals are edible).
During warm months, there are also lots of unique activities, including guided tours of the farm and distillery offering insight on lavender oil’s calming effects and antiseptic properties, catered picnics featuring local products, and relaxing open-air massages overlooking the tranquil sea of purple blooms. Each summer, there’s also a three-day Lavender Fair, with cooking workshops, live music, painting exhibitions and more.

We Are More by Shane Koyczan - A Poem on Canada

Slam poet Shane Koyczan shares his Canada
Slam poet Shane Koyczan performed his "We Are more poem" at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games Opening Ceremony and created a big buzz. It all began a few years ago, when he was commissioned by the Canadian Tourism Commission to create a piece that reflected the essence of Canada, what makes us Canadians. Here it is.
    Source here
    StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-

International arrivals to Canada climbed 2% in June 2011.

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-China and India markets show the way as first half of 2011 closes on a high, reports latest CTC Tourism Snapshot.
Almost two million travellers came to Canada in June 2011, a 2% year-on-year increase, says the latest Tourism Snapshot, just published by the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC)’s Research department.
However, this positive news was slightly offset by the year-to-date total of 6.4 million overnight visitors to this country, a 1% dip on the same period in 2010.
Here’s a breakdown of other key nuggets:

    • The China market has an ever-growing appetite for Canada. It posted the largest gain in overnight arrivals (up 23% on June 2010), and its year-to-date total is up 19%, too.

    • There was more positive news for the thirPublish Postd consecutive month from Mexico: an 8% upturn in overnighters to Canada over the same month last year.

    • The Germany market rebounded after five months of decline with a 10% boost in arrival numbers over June 2010. India (14%), Australia (8%), and France (5%) were other CTC key international overseas markets to report gains in numbers crossing Canadian passport control.

    • Not such happy tidings from Japan: a 30% drop in overnight arrivals to Canada was symptomatic of the ongoing troubles the country is suffering in the aftermath of the March earthquake and tsunami.

    • South Koreans are not travelling to Canada in the same numbers, either: June 2011 witnessed a 12% drop in arrivals, a fifth consecutive monthly fall.

    • Uncle Sam steered 1.4 million Americans to Canada in June 2011, 2% more than in the same month of 2010. They increased their  “other” modes of travel (+10%) and air travel (+4%) though fewer crossed the border by auto (-2%).

    • However, the US year-to-date figures for the first six months of 2011 show a 1% overall decline to 4.6 million overnight trips.

    • Newfoundland and Labrador (38%) and Nova Scotia (25%) were the American provinces of choice for the first half of 2011, whereas Prince Edward Island suffered an 89% tumble.

    • Canadians continue to flock for the travel exit routes: outbound travel in June 2011 hit two million, a 6% year-on-year increase.

    • Canadian consumer confidence trembled again. The Index of Consumer Confidence, released by The Conference Board of Canada, slipped 2.5 points on May ’11 to 83.1.

    • The US is a bundle of nerves, too.The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index fell to 58.5.

“BOL” Movie Review, August 29, 2011

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto- by Taran Adarsh Shoaib Mansoor is one of the brightest names to come out of Pakistan. A few years ago, his film KHUDA KAY LIYE, which tackled the theme of terrorism, won wide acclaim and praise. The supremely talented storyteller is back with another bold and hard-hitting effort called BOL, which unmasks the dual standards prevalent in the society. In fact, we make tall claims about the rights of women and how they are equal to men, but if one looks around, especially in the under-developed countries, the disparity and inequality is for all to see.

Shoaib is indeed a courageous storyteller and this film must have sparked off a debate when it released in Pakistan several weeks ago. Like KHUDA KAY LIYE, BOL addresses the religious extremism in the neighboring country. It's about a daughter who stands up against her father, but most importantly, she dares to defy the age-old societal norms that treat women as lesser beings. The fact that a Pakistani film-maker has had the courage to tackle this theme makes it all the more commendable and praiseworthy.
BOL makes you peep into the lives of a family living in Pakistan, making us aware of the predicament, the anguish, their determination to survive against all odds. The family decides to solve their problems, but get into deeper troubles gradually. The struggle for life and death is what catches your eye.
BOL shocks and stuns also because of the sub-plots in the plotline and the twists and turns in the story. Of course, I wouldn't like to reveal the details and spoil the fun of watching this brilliant fare, but I'd like to add that one has rarely witnessed such themes on the big screen. It serves as a wake-up call for the orthodox types on both the sides of the border.

BOL has a striking story to tell. It's about a Hakeem Sahab's quest to have a son that sees his wife give birth to fourteen children, but only seven daughters survive. The eighth is a hermaphrodite, much to Hakeem's embarrassment. The film throws light on this family's problems and how each member of the family reacts to them, taking contradicting decisions and handling awkward situations.

BOL takes you on a roller coaster journey of emotions. A story that dares to bare the troubles of a certain society: the status of women in the neighboring country, the life of a hermaphrodite and of course, the quest for a male heir to keep the family name alive. Admiring BOL and not appreciating Shoaib would be doing a great disservice to the individualist film-maker. He deserves brownie points for not just choosing a controversial subject, but also handling it with aplomb. That's not all, for Shoaib has extracted wonderful performances from the principal cast.

Shoaib is a fantastic raconteur and you realize how talented he is at several points of the narrative. The difference of opinion between the eldest daughter [portrayed by Humaima Malik] and her father [Manzar Sehbai] is electrifying. You can feel an undercurrent of tension every time they share the screen space. Also, the start of the film, when Humaima begins to narrate her story and the way her story unfolds, is shocking.

On the flip side, the narrative dips, albeit sporadically, during Iman Ali's portions. Besides, a song filmed on her wasn't necessary in the first place and looks like a complete add-on. Even her performance isn't as invigorating as the remaining cast. Yet, despite the minor aberrations, BOL leaves you spellbound at the conclusion of the story.

BOL belongs to both Humaima Malik and Manzar Sehbai, who stand out with terrific portrayals. Both are splendid in their respective parts. Atif Aslam and Mahira Khan don't get much scope and they are strictly okay. In fact, Atif Aslam's screen space is limited to a few sequences and a song or two. Shafqat Cheema is exceptional; it's a character that works very well in the plot. Zaib Rehman [the mother] is most effective.

On the whole, BOL is a courageous film that has the guts to expose issues plaguing the society. It raises questions, challenges the age-old customs and mirrors a reality most convincingly. A brilliant film embellished with bravura performances. Not to be missed!

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-HAMILTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 24, 2011) - University researchers and the automotive industry will now come together to develop "green" automotive technologies, thanks to a new investment by the Government of Canada. The Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), announced the funding at McMaster's Innovation Park. Minister Goodyear was accompanied by David Sweet, Member of Parliament for Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale.
"Our government is committed to making sure the people, businesses and communities of southern Ontario have the tools they need to succeed," said Minister of State Goodyear. "This investment will not only create jobs but help build an automotive resource centre putting southern Ontario at the forefront in the development of green automotive technologies."

Through FedDev Ontario's Prosperity Initiative, McMaster University will receive up to $11.5 million to create the McMaster Automotive Resource Centre (MARC) for the research and development of innovations such as hybrid and electric powertrains, batteries and lightweight materials. The resulting collaboration between businesses, manufacturers, parts suppliers, and researchers will meet the growing demand for green and efficient automotive models. Once completed, the McMaster Automotive Resource Centre is expected to employ approximately 120 to 150 workers from the private, public and academic sectors and will provide training opportunities for highly qualified personnel that this sector requires.

"I am very pleased to see that with this support, our region will become more competitive and known for its leading-edge automotive technology," said MP Sweet. "Our government recognizes the importance of investing in businesses and post-secondary institutions so that southern Ontario can expand into promising new markets."

"The automotive sector is important to Canada's economy," said Patrick Deane, President and Vice-Chancellor, McMaster University. "MARC will allow our University to support this sector through industry-driven research and prototype development, as well as provide opportunities for students to work directly on priority projects with our industry partners."
The Prosperity Initiative is a direct result of feedback from business leaders, academics and community leaders from across southern Ontario, who suggested FedDev Ontario take a leadership role in bolstering innovation and economic growth in our region.
FedDev Ontario was created as part of Canada's Economic Action Plan to support businesses and communities in southern Ontario. Now in its third year of operation, the Agency has launched a number of initiatives to create a Southern Ontario Advantage and place the region in a strong position to compete in the global economy. These initiatives are designed to support businesses and other organizations through partnerships and investments in skills and training; innovation; research and development; and increased productivity.

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA – Prime Minister Stephen Harper today visited the Gur Sikh Temple in Abbotsford, B.C., as part of the year-long centennial celebrations of North America’s longest-standing Sikh temple.

“It is an honour for me to be here today to celebrate the Gur Sikh Temple’s 100th anniversary,” said the Prime Minister. “On this occasion, we reflect on the tremendous contributions of the Sikh community in Canada – a community that continues to play an important role in building our strong, dynamic society while taking great pride in their faith and traditions.” Also known as the Abbotsford Sikh Temple, the Gur Sikh Temple is a reminder of the religious, social and political role that temples played in Canada’s earliest Sikh communities.

The Temple embodies the courage, hardships and perseverance of Sikh pioneers, as well as their success in retaining their religious beliefs, while adapting to new conditions and integrating into Canadian society. The Gur Sikh Temple was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2002.  To celebrate this special milestone, the Government has contributed to several infrastructure projects and activities through the Building Communities

Through Arts and Heritage Program. Funding will be used to build a museum within the temple, a mural and monument commemorating its creation, as well as a new gate to the Gurdwara – or temple. A series of artistic and cultural activities will also be held, enabling local residents to celebrate this historic anniversary along with the Sikh community. Canada is home to more than 300,000 Sikhs. Their extraordinary success in every field of endeavour – including business, science, medicine, the arts and politics – has helped shape the strong and dynamic country we know today.
