Chantal Kreviazuk Sings for Colon Cancer

Who:            Colon Cancer Canada and acclaimed Canadian vocalist, Chantal Kreviazuk.

What:   Colon Cancer Canada’s 10th Anniversary Gala of Hope – A Derriere Affair - featuring a concert by Chantal Kreviazuk.

The Gala will consist of refreshments, an amazing Silent Auction and a not-to-be missed concert by Juno-award winning vocalist Chantal Kreviazuk.  An exclusive after party will be held and is open to Corporate Sponsors and Orchestra level ticket holders and will include renowned Guest Chefs and Caterers for a sumptuous culinary experience.

Why:    To raise the much needed funds in the fight against Colon Cancer.  Monies raised from the gala are dedicated to making a difference in the field of colorectal cancer such as research initiatives, campaigns to increase public awareness and networks to provide education and patient support.

The Gala of Hope is one of Colon Cancer Canada’s signature fundraising events which, over the past 10 years, has raised close to $2 million in the fight against Colon Cancer. Being the 10th Anniversary, Colon Cancer Canada has set an aggressive goal of $300,000.

Chantal Kreviazuk

With an insightful wisdom that belies her sweet voice Winnipeg’s Chantal Kreviazuk has become one of Canada’s top music artists.

Chantal has won two Juno Awards for "Best Female Artist" and "Best Pop/Adult Album" and her soulful sounds have garnered widespread acclaim across North America.

Although she is one of Canada's top stars, Kreviazuk is also one of Canada's most genuine. Chantal has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to human rights causes. She has been an avid supporter of War Child Canada donating her time and talents to this charity and others.

Colon Cancer Canada

Colon Cancer Canada is a national charitable organization and to date, has raised over 6.6 million which is directed towards saving lives through increasing public awareness of colorectal cancer and access to screening, funding research initiatives and providing colorectal cancer patient support.

Fast Facts about Colon Cancer

Colon cancer is the second leading cause of both male and female cancer-related deaths in Canada.  In 2010 over 22,000 Canadians were diagnosed with colon cancer.  Although this is a startling statistic, more startling is the fact that almost half of those diagnosed died.  Surprisingly, colon cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer.  If caught early, over 90% of these cases could and should result in a full recovery.
