Are you minding your mind?

We all are running I guess faster than the clock. And so are our life and our health running behind us, making every effort to ask us whether we want any break?? Is our life SO busy? Don't we deserve such breaks to refresh our life? Our laptops and computers seem to be luckier than us, at least they have a refresh button and a shut down option!!
Let’s get this simple: Are you taking good care of YOUR Mental Health? Most of us would choose to spontaneously nod i acceptance and prepare huge sentences to answer this question. They would say:

1. "Yes, when my spouse is mad at me, I pull back and thus, end fights.”
2. “I simply neglect when my teenager arrogantly back answers and yells at me.”
3. “Things aren’t going well in my marriage so I decide to stay back long in the
office. It is easier that way.”
4. “My friends aren’t in touch with me any more but I guess I am fine alone.”
5. “My colleague is getting nasty these days but I prefer ignoring rather than getting
into discussions and then probably conflicts.”
Above any many more such explanations isn’t what you should be answering………
Stop ‘Blindly Breathing’:
1. Do not emotionally mask 24/7. It is suppression of your real emotion and
expression of unreal emotion which others wish to see on you.
2. Do not over-pamper your ego; it is moving you in the opposite direction of the
world.
3. Do not self-pity; it makes you weaker and vulnerable. Empathy is a better word
instead of sympathy for your own self.
4. Be friends with ‘ifs and buts’ of your life.
5. Stop denying- Your truth my truth can be different!
6. Every emotion can be expressed in a positive way at the right place, right time
and to the right person.
7. Do not say “I am OK” when you are not OK.
8. Stop denying that every human comes with their own blacks and whites and so do
you too.
9. Avoid negative self-talk. Eg. Why ME?, No matter what I do, failure will fall in
my pocket, I hate myself, I don’t like these things in myself, Nobody ever
understands me, I am sick of myself etc
10. Stop saying ‘NO’ to yourself when you rightly deserve a ‘YES’ to it.
Start ‘Living Life’:
1. Give 5 compliments to yourself daily.
2. Smile, kiss and say “I love you” to yourself while you are grooming/ dressing up/
shaving in front of the mirror. It is not crazy!!

3. Have your ‘My Time’ daily for 15 minutes. Use this time to do anything that
YOU like, be just yourself, become comfortable and complete with yourself.
4. Take regular breaks and introspect: Eg: Are you happy? Where are you taking
your life?
5. Love yourself unconditionally. Say ‘No’ to have checklists for you to accept your
own self.
6. Feel proud of whatever you are today. Say: “Hey, I am unique!”
7. Learn to balance: Individual U, Family U, and Social U!
8. Respect every ‘I’, ‘U’ and ‘WE’.
9. Create happy moments for yourself, don’t wait and expect others to do it for you
all the time.
10. Celebrate life as it comes just once!

Stop to smell the lavender

Aromatherapy awaits in Canada’s parcel of Provence.
StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-by Giancarlo La Giorgia -

If you’re passing through Québec’s Eastern Townships region this summer, with the wind off Lake Memphremagog blowing just right, you may find your attention drawn by a distant, but distinct, floral perfume. That spritz of sweet-smelling air is Mother Nature’s way of advertising the Bleu Lavande lavender farm, just past the covered bridge in the rural hamlet of Fitch Bay.

Despite the challenge of long, cold winters, owners Pierre Pellerin and Christine Deschesnes defied conventional wisdom – and conquered their own inexperience – to slowly nurture their dream of planting a bit of Provence on 100 acres of land they purchased near the Québec-Vermont border. After a false start in 2002 (the first winter killed off all but 10,000 plants), Bleu Lavande now boasts over 300,000 true lavender plants under cultivation, all grown without chemicals or pesticides, making it the second-biggest operation of its kind in North America.
A farmstead boutique opened in 2004, and there are now many Bleu Lavande shops across the province, including several in the Montreal area. But even if it’s a bit out of the way, there is a lot more in store for visitors to the original location. You’ll find the brand’s full range of lavender-based products, from lotions, soaps and cleaning products, to lavender cooking ingredients, chocolates and honey, as well as candles, linen water and even potted English and Munstead lavender plants (the latter’s petals are edible).
During warm months, there are also lots of unique activities, including guided tours of the farm and distillery offering insight on lavender oil’s calming effects and antiseptic properties, catered picnics featuring local products, and relaxing open-air massages overlooking the tranquil sea of purple blooms. Each summer, there’s also a three-day Lavender Fair, with cooking workshops, live music, painting exhibitions and more.

Self-Hunt- I, Me, Myself!

Hi friends, today we will try and understand how important it is to meet Ourselves……Daily!!! If I ask you to explain your role as a son/ wife/ grandparent or as a corporate professional……..oh ho…..I am sure you have already started answering this in your mind…..isn’t it? And now if I ask you to define Yourself as a Human……just Mr./ Ms.……and most of you will be stuck on what to answer and how? Well, that is exactly how we all have conditioned our mind and have happily got accustomed to live this way. We have conveniently or sub-consciously ignored the fact that in all the roles of our life…..We are missing our own self; we have walked so far away from ourselves that now going back seems stressful, we are missing on taking a break and introspecting about ourselves and thereby, going away and at times lose touch with ourselves. Rightly said, late is better than never! So let us begin our journey of Self-Hunt:
1. Introspect and find out,
A] When was it that you met yourself the last time?
B] When was it last when you felt being with yourself?
2. Do you consistently manage and enjoy your ‘Me’ time?
3. How well and completely have you accepted yourself?
4. Are you aware of the top 5 things that give you unconditional happiness?
5. How frequently you compliment yourself? And pat your own back?
6. How often do you enjoy hearing your own laughter?
7. Do you enjoy grooming?
8. How do you take care of your self-esteem?
9. Which are the 5 regular things you have on your to-do-list to de-stress yourself?
10. Do you actually take a break and enjoy your pleasant mood/ emotions?
11. Which 2 things motivate you the most? How often you practice them?
12. Are you able to confess to and forgive yourself?
13. How often do you cross-check your Self-Talk with regard to optimism?
14. Is your life breathing as you want it to?
15. When was the last time you said “I love you” to yourself?
The reason we need to do this is that we are aware of missing ourselves and yet again we keep postponing this hunt for self. At the end of each day most of us spend at least some time in repenting of not being able to enjoy their current life, thinking this is not what they had expected themselves to be, are over-sacrificing in the other related roles, complaining that life is getting too demanding but is not giving them much in return and so on. What you will sow in your mind, same will you reap in the form of thoughts, personality traits, emotions, attitude and behavior. Thus, this is the right time to wake up and deal with our incompletion about self. Many times we expect self-definition, happiness and self-satisfaction to come to us from the outer world but the undeniable fact is it has to start and continue coming from within us. This was a small exercise to help you find and come closer to yourself, thus, make sure you answer all the above question……..after all what completes our identity is a world of I, Me,
Myself!!!
Thank You!
